Mary Hope Blase, MS, APRN, CNS - Individual, Couples, and Group Therapy

Welcome

Congratulations on making it this far. Searching for a therapist can be an overwhelming process, and the first step is often the hardest!

I am an adult psychotherapist, licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).  These credentials, coupled with nearly 30 years of related experience, allow me to address clients’ mental health, social, and physical needs in individual, couples and group psychotherapy in the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Many individuals struggle with chronic pain, depression, anxiety, loss, addictions, and adjustment to change. My style is direct, compassionate and interactive, utilizing evidenced-based practices. Insights and procedures found in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) are employed to produce meaningful gains as quickly as possible. Work with couples is informed by Emotionally-Focused Therapy and Family Systems Therapy.

The goal of my practice is to help individuals and couples gain insight and make behavioral changes to enhance their lives.
